My Background
Covid has been my saviour in many ways, I discovered at 71 I can paint! The Melbourne lock down gave me reason to find a purpose and something to fulfill my longing of the outback, where I had previously been travelling in my motorhome for the previous 2-3 years on my own, I have now transferred the emotions I have for the outback and consequently my lack of freedom, into my art.
I have no formal style, just paint what tweaks my interest.
When I first started it was with acrylics but I have now branched out to oils also. I often begin a work with acrylics then progress to oils.
I like to use all sorts of implements and at present experimenting with palette knives.
As you can see I'm a bit of a clown too. I have been a part of a group that visits hospitals and Age care homes. My highlight was touring with Patch Adams (google him if you do not know him) through Casablanca and Marrakech in Morocco visiting orphanages and hospitals.

I have various mediums depending on my mood! Sometimes it is oils, next time it may be acrylics, I do not use watercolour as prefer the other two methods.
When it comes to tools I use brushes mainly sometimes palette knives, a lot of finger smudging to get effects right!
As to how I choose my next project it is whatever takes my fancy I do not stick to one style.

I guess I got started during covid due to my partner, on learning I wished I could paint swent out and bought me the basics to start.
It has deveopled from there and where I started with minimal equipment I have now taken over a spare bedroom with easels, tables and paint.
